Endorsed by Zohran Mamdani and Bernie Sanders, Claire Valdez will fight for us in Congress.

Summary

Voters need to both read and see on the go that Claire Valdez is endorsed by Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Senator Bernie Sanders. As a union organizer and New York State Assemblymember she has fought to tax the rich, protect tenants, and for higher wages for working people. Before her election to the State Assembly, Claire Valdez worked low-wage customer service jobs at Taco Bell and Trader Joes, learning first-hand how little control working people have over their wages and working conditions. She’s running for Congress to abolish ICE, fight for a free Palestine, and make life more affordable for working people. Valdez is the only candidate in this race who hasn’t taken real estate money.

ICE

Claire Valdez will not stand by as the Trump administration recklessly pursues an immigration policy that has ruined our economy and separates families. New York is home to millions of people from all over the world and its diversity is what makes this city so great. In Congress, she will fight tirelessly to abolish ICE, establish a pathway to citizenship, and put an end to the unconstitutional raids and deportations tearing hardworking families apart.

Genocide in Gaza

While many Democrats have been too cowardly to speak up, Claire Valdez was an early vocal opponent of the genocide happening in Gaza. In Congress, she will oppose sending any more taxpayer dollars to Israel for bombs and weapons and demand that money be used to fund our communities at home. She will be a courageous voice for peace and will work with any member of Congress—Democrat or Republican—to stop these illegal wars.

Housing

As rent prices in New York skyrocket, Claire Valdez knows what it’s like to be one crisis away from losing your home. Valdez will be a champion for passing legislation in Congress to increase the supply of affordable housing, fully fund the New York City Housing Authority, and fight for a New York where working people can afford to stay. Claire is the only candidate in this race who has not taken real estate money.
